Private Jet Charter from Southern California to Cabo

If you’re leaving Newport Beach in the morning and want to be at your villa in Palmilla in time for lunch, we’ll plan backward from the table. A stay on the Pacific side or a boat waiting at the Cabo San Lucas marina calls for a different arrival plan. Tell us where you’re headed first, and we’ll compare the whole journey.

Aircraft & flight time

Featured airport pair: Van Nuys (VNY) to Los Cabos International (SJD)

The estimates start with this pair. Select another listed airport to compare.

CategoryEst. nonstop timeEstimated max passengers
Light jet2h 15m – 2h 50mUp to 9
Midsize jet2h 10m – 2h 40mUp to 8
Super-midsize jet2h 05m – 2h 35mUp to 10

Planning estimates use straight-line distance, assumed category speeds and an allowance for climb, descent and routing. Actual time and nonstop capability depend on the aircraft, winds, passenger and baggage load, and airport conditions. Fuel stops and ground time are excluded. Passenger counts are upper-end seating examples for each category. The number your flight can carry depends on the aircraft layout, baggage, fuel and airport conditions.

Planning detail 01

Pick a departure airport that works for everyone

If most guests are coming from Newport Beach or Irvine, start with John Wayne. For Encino or the western San Fernando Valley, compare Van Nuys; for a start near the studios or the eastern Valley, look at Burbank. If a guest is connecting through LAX, we’ll compare departing from there and allow time for baggage claim and the transfer to the private terminal.

Planning detail 02

Choose your Cabo airport by where you’re staying

Los Cabos International serves San José del Cabo and is a natural first look for stays in Palmilla or near Puerto Los Cabos. For the Cabo San Lucas marina, Pedregal or a villa on the Pacific side, we’ll also compare Cabo San Lucas International, a separate airport. For a property along the Tourist Corridor, the exact address can tip the decision. We’ll compare the drive and confirm aircraft suitability and clearance arrangements before booking.

Planning detail 03

Make the villa or marina handoff part of the itinerary

If you’re staying at a gated villa, send us the villa number and entrance your host wants the driver to use. For a yacht or fishing charter, tell us the marina and when the captain needs you dockside. We’ll work backward from that time, allowing for customs, the drive and getting your bags aboard. If the boat has a firm departure, consider flying in the day before.

Questions about Southern California to Cabo charters

Can we bring golf clubs and fishing rods?

Yes, with the right aircraft. Tell us how many golf bags, rod tubes and suitcases are coming. A jet can have enough seats for your group but still lack space for a long rod tube. If you’re renting clubs or the boat supplies tackle, let us know so we can compare aircraft with the luggage you’ll actually bring.

What documents should we have ready for Cabo?

Have a valid passport ready for each traveler, including children. We’ll help you check what else your group needs based on nationality and itinerary, and explain where you’ll clear customs and immigration on arrival.

Can we fly out of one California airport and return to another?

Yes. If you’re leaving from Orange County but heading home to the Valley after Cabo, we can quote John Wayne outbound and Van Nuys on the return. If anyone is leaving a car at the departure airport, tell us before booking so we can plan around it.
